As the new year kicks off, I’m more motivated than ever to dive headfirst into my writing projects. I’ve got big plans, and I want to share them with you—partly to hold myself accountable and partly because I know some of you are just as curious about the writing process as I am about getting these stories out into the world.

Here’s a look at what I’m working on this year and the goals I’ve set for myself to make it all happen.

2025 Writing Goals

Setting clear and achievable writing goals is crucial for maintaining focus and motivation. This year, I have established several specific objectives that I believe will challenge me and help me grow as a writer:

Finishing My First Novel Series: Forever University

I’m beyond excited about this project. Forever University is my first novel series, and it’s been such a thrilling ride to bring it to life. This year, my main focus is finishing the first book, which is well on its way to being completed. After that, I’ll dive into the second book, since I already have a solid outline for it.

I’ve always dreamt of seeing my work traditionally published, so I’m planning to submit the Forever University trilogy to agents and publishers once the first book is polished. I’m setting myself up for success by researching potential agents who specialize in romance and YA fiction and learning about the traditional publishing process along the way.

Monthly Behind-the-Scenes Blog Posts

One of my favorite ways to connect with you all is by sharing insights into my writing journey. That’s why I’ve committed to publishing a behind-the-scenes blog post each month. These posts will give you a sneak peek into my writing process, including how I develop my characters, plotlines, and the moments that inspire me.

I’m excited to share the highs, the lows, and all the little details that go into creating a story. Whether it’s a funny moment of writer’s block or the joy of seeing a character finally come to life, I want you to be part of the journey with me.

Turning Blog Posts into a Book

I’ve been writing a lot about sex and personal development over on Medium, and it’s time to take that writing to the next level. I’m compiling my most engaging and thought-provoking blog posts into a book, and I’m still figuring out whether it fits into the memoir, essay collection, or personal essay category.

This book will be an exploration of my personal experiences and reflections on topics that matter to me—sex, self-expression, growth, and empowerment. Think of it like Carrie Bradshaw’s style, where the writing is both intimate and reflective, but with a touch of humor and honesty.

Improving My Craft and Expanding My Reach

In addition to writing and publishing, I’m focused on improving my craft this year. I want to read more widely in my genres (romance, paranormal, mystery, self-help), attend workshops, and keep pushing myself to write better stories. I also plan to attend some writer’s conferences to meet other authors and learn from their experiences (hoping).

On top of that, I’m making it a goal to expand my reach on platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube. I’ll be sharing more about my work-in-progress, offering behind-the-scenes content, and keeping you updated on all my projects as they unfold.

Monetizing and Growing My Author Brand

As I continue to work on my self-published stories and blog compilation, my aim is to monetize these projects in a way that allows me to do what I love full-time. Whether it’s through digital book sales, exclusive content on Patreon, or brand partnerships, I’m committed to finding ways to grow my author brand.

I’ve also considered launching a newsletter or a private reader community to share exclusive content and connect with my audience on a deeper level. Maybe have my books on audible for those who love to listen instead of read. Of course, future merchandise for those of you who will want products of your favorite stories and characters.

Balancing Work and Play

Lastly, I’m reminding myself that balancing work and play is just as important as meeting deadlines. I plan to dedicate time to rest, recharge, and find inspiration outside of my writing. Whether that’s through reading, traveling, or simply enjoying life’s little moments, I believe this balance will keep my creativity flowing and my passion alive.

So, that’s the plan for my 2025 writing goals! I’m incredibly excited about what this year holds, and I can’t wait to share more of my writing journey with you. Thank you for your continued support—whether you’re reading my stories, following my progress on social media, or just cheering me on from the sidelines, I appreciate every bit of encouragement.

What are your goals for the year? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!
