I don't write for anyone's approval, and I don't live for it either. This is my life — I'm telling it exactly the way I choose to.

I've been writing since I was fifteen. Songs first, then poems, then stories that spilled into margins and late nights and notebooks I still haven't finished. It was never a decision — it was just what happened when I had something I couldn't say out loud.

College gave me the craft. English fiction and nonfiction classes taught me to shape what I'd always felt into something a reader could hold. After that, the writing world never really let me go — and I never really tried to leave.
